Flowers in my hair; Gunk in my lungs

I don’t recall ever having allergies like this before. In fact, I don’t recall ever having allergies at all!
But these past 2 weeks have been killer. Runny nose, sore throat, crusty red eyes, cough, WORSE sore throat, hacking up stuff. I am hoping the hacking up stuff is the last phase – it feels like it.
So what is the reason everyone in West Tennessee has allergies right now? Because we had one of the snowiest winter on record…Wait…What?
The Commercial Appeal says all that snow/moisture was absorbed by the oak trees. Then it got warm very quickly last week. So all the oak trees dropped their brown “wormy-looking” pollen things at once. Guess what Bobby and I have in our front yard? A humongous, 50+ year old oak tree.
So if I run poorly lately (or not at all) I’m blaming it on the trees – Neh!
